Tokaj Hills Harvest Days in 950-year-old Tokaj

Tokaj Hills Harvest Days in 950-year-old Tokaj

The Tokaj Mountains Harvest Days are one of the oldest harvest events in our country, celebrated since 1932. The organizers welcome those interested to Tokaj, which is celebrating its 950th birthday this year, for the three-day holiday between October 6 and 8 under the theme of „White wines, colorful culture”.

The 950-year-old Tokaj is the emblematic city of Hungary, the eponymous settlement of the Tokaj aszú, hungarikum, a world heritage site, the city of white wines, colorful culture and tolerance, one of the symbol of Hungarian nation and national unity.

For centuries, Tokaj wine has played a decisive role in the development of our national identity, so the aim of the event is to nurture this cultural tradition and to present the diverse community values of the world heritage area in one of Hungary's most popular tourist regions, in the city named after the Tokaj Aszú, Tokaj.

Harvest parade, premium winemakers, concerts

Last year and the year before, nearly ten thousand people came to the city during the three days, and the festival will certainly attract many visitors this year as well, because the organizers provide exciting programs for all ages not only on Kossuth Square, but also in the surrounding area.

There will be a spectacular harvest parade (with the cooperation of local educational institutions and traditional preservation groups), a grape collection ceremony with the wine region's mayors ceremonially collecting their harvest, where Deputy Minister Zsófia Koncz, Member of Parliament, and György Posta, Mayor of Tokaj will also give a festive greeting.

The BORTÉR venue offers excellent wines from the Tokaj Mountains (you can buy a festival glass - "stylishly" with the 950 logo - in the Tokaj wooden house), the gastronomic promenade awaits guests with delicious flavors, and the handicrafts and crafts street awaits guests with souvenirs. In the pedestrian street - in a fun, vintage atmosphere - outdoor music concerts, street musicians and street theater programs (folk games, crafts) will entertain both young and old. For children, Molnár Orsi's Zsibongó show promises a cloudless relaxation (Sunday, October 8 from 2:30 p.m.).

On the main stage (which was named Tokaj 950), special musical programs and concerts await fans of various styles from here and beyond our borders. Among others, on October 6 from 18:00 the Kitchen Orchestra, from 20:30 the Parno Graszt; on October 7 from 18:00 Vivat Bacchus, from 20:00 The Biebers; on October 8, Margaret Island will give a concert - from 7 p.m.

On Saturday and Sunday, the audience will be entertained on the small stages (on the vintage terrace and on the wine terrace), such as Musical Trips Trio, guitarist Gábor Ursu, Acoustic Guitar Caffe.
