This year, Tokaj's biggest autumn event will move to a new location
The Tokaj-Hegyalja Harvest Days is one of the oldest harvest events in Hungary, so it is also one of the most important events in the capital of the Tokaj World Heritage wine region, which will be held in a new location in 2021. This year, the Fesztiválkatlan and its immediate surroundings will be the base of the three-day harvest event, but in many parts of the city, light music concerts, wine and gastronomic hustle and bustle and plenty of exciting programs await those interested in the spirit of „White wines, colorful culture“.
New location, usual vintage atmosphere
The harvest is a real celebration for every wine region and all its participants. The Harvest Days in Tokaj-Hegyalja have been held in the Tokaj wine region since 1932 and, after almost 90 years, attract an unbroken number of visitors to Tokaj, one of the most popular tourist destinations in Hungary.
In previous years, the vintage events were organized around Kossuth Square, but last year's event also hosted the city's number one concert venue, Fesztiválkatlan. This spectacular music and community space will play an even more important role this year. The site is also safer from an epidemiological point of view due to the fact that another important urban development work is expected to take place in Kossuth Square in Tokaj at the time of the event.
“Insight with winemakers!”: Wine tastings, concerts, gastronomy
Also in 2021, the organizers dreamed up an exciting program for all ages. Among other things, a vintage parade, a grape addition ceremony (with the ceremonial addition of the mayors of the wine region), programs of traditional groups, WINE Square - Tokaj-Hegyalja premium wines and excellent wineries, wine tasting with Tokaj Guide book presentation, gastro promenade, street of producers and craftsmen, concerts await fans of various styles from folk to jazz here and beyond on our borders. This year, KOWALSKY MEG A VEGA will be the star performer of the event.
If that weren't enough, the atmosphere in the historical part of the city will liven up: on the terrace of the Rákóczi Cellar, the Hímesudvar and the Paulay Wine House, but also in the Tokaj Coffee Roasting Manufactory, exciting programs and delicacies await everyone from October 1 to 3.
Participation in the programs is free. For more details, it is worth following the facebook page of the event:
