Tokaj-Hegyalja Harvest Days 2020

„White wines, colourful culture”

1-4 October 2020 Tokaj

Programmes from the Fesztiválkatlan, through the Kossuth Square to the Szerelmi pincesor!

The Harvest Days have been organized in Tokaj since 1932, when grapes and wine are celebrated. In consideration of the present circumstances, in a bit unusual way, Tokaj-Hegyalja’s biggest vintage festival is waiting everyone with many exciting programs in several places of the city.

You can taste the premium wines of Tokaj-Hegyalja wineries and dishes made with TOKAJI nectar in Kossuth Suare, but you can also get an insight into the vintage work processes at the exhibitions. During the organized walks in the city, you can get to know the sights and the history of the region better, moreover, producers and craftsmen making premium Hungarian products will be introduced in the street of craftsmen (Rákóczi street). This year, in an unusual way, there will be no stage set up in the square, but there will be a street theatre, a folk playground, children’s programs, a fire juggler show, an interactive history lesson, there will also be stilts and fair comedies. Smaller concerts (Miklós Varga) will take place in various parts of the square, Kelet Brass Band and the Melounge duo will perform in the courtyard of the Paulay Ede Theatre. You can listen to the concert of the saxophonist St. Martin in the Rákóczi Cellar.

The Tokaj Winemakers’ Table Society is going to have a „Walking Tasting” at the former Tokaj Synagogue on the 3rd of October, but those interested can also take part in a vineyard tour; where 8 wineries offer their 2 types of wines to be tasted with snacks.

Great fun is guaranteed on the main stage of Tokaj Fesztiválkatlan in the evenings 2nd and 3rd of October. On Friday, one of the most popular bands in Hungarian music life, the Punnany Massif is on stage and Neoton Familia Sztárjai creates a real retro atmosphere in the auditorium on Saturday.

In the evening of the closing day of the festival, a magnificent comedy, How the Other Half Loves, can be seen at the Paulay Ede Theatre. You can study the comic life situations of three married couples accompanied with endless misunderstandings and jokes. In addition to the performance, the theatre will also open two exhibitions as part of the Harvest Days.

Szerelmi pincesor awaits its guests with open cellars and real vintage atmosphere.

The taste of Tokaj and Tokaj wines await everyone from the Fesztiválkatlan through the Kossuth Square to the Szerelmi pincesor!
