The Tokaj Hills Harvest Days are one of the oldest harvest events in our country, celebrated since 1932. The organizers welcome those interested to Tokaj for the three-day holiday between October 4 and 6 under the theme of "White wines, colorful culture".
Due to the developments affecting the center of Tokaj, the Tokaj Fesztiválkatlan will host this year's Harvest Days, but there will be programs in many parts of the town. The event can be visited free of charge for most programs.
For centuries, Tokaj wine has played a decisive role in the development of our national identity, so the purpose of the event is to nurture this cultural tradition and to present the diverse community values of the world heritage area in one of Hungary's most popular tourist regions, in Tokaj, the namesake city of the Tokaj Aszú.
A vintage parade, premium winemakers, DESH and the Korda couple will also entertain you
In recent years, nearly ten thousand people visited the city during the three days, and the festival will certainly attract many visitors this year as well, because the organizers provide exciting programs for all ages at the 10-year-old Tokaj Fesztiválkatlan and throughout the city.
There will be a spectacular vintage parade (with the participation of local educational institutions, traditional preservation groups, and wine knights) on October 5 (Saturday) from 2 p.m. on the usual route, but extended to Fesztiválkatlan. The grape collection ceremony with the wine region's mayors ceremonially adding up the harvest will be held on the Katlan main stage.
The BORTÉR awaits guests with its excellent wines (you can buy a festival glass in the Tourinform Tokaj’s wooden house), the gastronomic promenade with delicious flavors, and the artisans and crafts street with souvenirs. In a cheerful, vintage atmosphere, music concerts and street musicians will entertain both young and old. For children, October 6, Sunday, promises cloudless relaxation with exciting program elements.
On the main stage, special musical programs and concerts await fans of various styles from here and beyond our borders.
DESH, whose fairy-tale story is one of the most exciting spots in the Hungarian music industry, will perform on October 4 (Friday) from 8:30 p.m.
The star guests of the main day, GYÖRGY KORDA and KLÁRI BALÁZS, will perform on October 5 (Saturday) from 8:30 p.m. György Korda, who turns 85 this year, and his wife and duet partner, Klári Balázs, are preparing for the Harvest Days in the Tokaj Mountains with the most popular Korda-Balázs hits and a spectacular stage show. Reptér, Lady N.., Mamma maria... Countless evergreens, which will all be heard.
Residents of Tokaj can participate in the concerts for free by presenting their address card and prior registration. Tickets can only be requested at the Tourinform office in Tokaj (opening hours: Mon-Fri 9:00-17:00, Sat 10:00-16:00).
Quality street music groups and DJs will entertain the audience on Friday and Saturday on the small stages (on the vintage terrace and on the wine terrace). Lili Regán will be a star disc jockey on October 5 (Saturday) from 11 p.m.
This year's special prize winners of the Tokaji Street Music Festival ("The most unique musical formation") will perform.
The exhibiting winemakers: Tokaj Disznókő, János Ducsai Winery, Grand Tokaj, Gróf Dégenfeld Vineyard and Castle Inn****, Kései Pincze, Paulay Borház, Tibor Családi Pince, Szerelmi Pince and other wineries in the foothills!
There will also be programs at external, alternative locations, and there will be open cellars during the three days. For example, on October 5 (Saturday), THE-Tokaj Agricultural Technical School, Vocational Training School and College will host a whole day of harvest cavalcade with programs closely related to harvesting. The members of the Tokaj Winemakers' Table Society are waiting for Tokaj wine lovers with a vineyard tour on October 5 (Saturday) from 10 a.m. Additional locations in Tokaj are being prepared with exciting gastronomic and cultural programs.
